• The sides of the case are a mix. The majority of the area where most people would hold the case (midway to just below the bottom of the device) is hard plastic. The upper half of the sides and the bottom 15% of the sides are rubber. Typically your thumb and first two fingers will be holding rubber and the rest of your hand will be on hard plastic.

• First there is a a soft cover then you put a plastic cover.
