You can't take off the plastic - if you want a tempered glass protector - I'd recommend the commuter case

Yes it will still work if you have the tempered glass you don't have to take off the plastic cover. However I use the nude so there is no plastic cover and it still waterproof

Yes, you could rip it out if you wanted to. It's glued to the interior of the case.

You can't take the screen off but my wife has a glass screen protector but it still fits in case, just a little tight

I haven't tried to take it off yet. I'm sure it can. The raised sides on the case helps to prevent hitting the screen directly.
