“Is this compatible with the iPad Smart Keyboard?”

• I purchased the Otterbox Defender iPad 7th Gen and Apple iPad Smart Keyboard based on the reply by 'CommunityAnswer' above stating 'Yes,this is compatible with iPad smart keyboard'. But having both pieces in hand I don't see how that's possible that they are compatible. The smart keyboard relies connecting via 3 magnetic circles on the side of the iPad, but the Otterbox Defender case seems to cover those completely with the hard plastic and silicone. If someone has actually made this work I'd appreciate a how to.
