• This best buy website specifications states it is WATER RESISTANT. That's probably a better description. "Waterproof: fully submergible up to 6.6' for 30 minutes" is what's stated on the WalMart website by one of their third party vendors.

• Ana, It is supposed to be waterproof. It is marketed as waterproof. It usually is... But, I believe otterbox has stopped making these. I wonder if it's because the waterproofing part of it failed? Or is it because people didn't want to spend a lot more for this model over the defender? (Originally the price difference was large) What do I know? I'm just passing on what I've noticed in researching this myself. I have not made a purchase yet either.
