• I think it’s just the camera hole difference. It fits the phones, but your camera will be obscured in the 12 case

• In some cases the size of the camera hole may be too small. I bought my otter box case at BB then saw a similar otter box case on clearance at tjmaxx for $10! It was for a 12 pro max and had one of those pop up holders in the back. It was a tight fit but it was okay. In the end I returned the tjmaxx case and stayed with the regular otter box case. I would have felt really stupid if something went wrong just to save $40.
