A:AnswerYes, the Ring works, but the information without the subscription is nearly useless!
Without the subscription, Oura withholds ALL basic source information provided by the Ring. Instead, Oura only displays "Activity Goal", "Readiness", and "Sleep" scores.
These scores are nearly useless because they are based upon information provided by the Ring that you will no longer be able to see. For example, the "Activity Goal" score is based upon your individual goal for steps - but without the subscription, you will no longer be able to see, set, or update this goal! The "Sleep" score will be based up go-to-bed and wake-up times that may not be correct, but without the subscription, you will have no long have the ability to see that the information is wrong or be able to correct it.
Therefore, if you want to continue to get the promised value from your Ring, you will HAVE to continue the subscription! This will bring a total three-year cost of the ring up to about $500!!
Buyer beware! I bought my ring directly from Oura with a 6-month subscription included. Now that my subscription has run out, I am very disappointed to find out that there is almost no value to the ring without the subscription. I would not recommend the Ring unless you plan to pay for the subscription and include the subscription cost in your planned cost of the Ring.
A:AnswerThe Oura Ring emits minimal electric and magnetic fields (EMFs) and allows users to enable Airplane Mode to limit contact even further. The limit for Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) for a device such as the Oura Ring is 2.0 W/kg for the head and body. The Oura Ring SAR level is 0.0003 W/kg.
Additionally, Bluetooth is only active on the Oura Ring for short periods, well below 1% of the day. Data is transmitted more continuously when the ring syncs with the app and during firmware updates.
A:AnswerYou may return any fully functional and undamaged Oura product for any reason within 14 days for a full refund or exchange. Shipping and handling charges are not refundable. For exchanges, original orders are limited to one ring size, color, or model change within the same price range. If you have any concerns with your ring, you can also submit support requests through the Oura App and Oura website.
A:AnswerThe Oura Ring works on all fingers and can be worn on either hand. For optimal performance and accuracy, we recommend wearing your Oura Ring on your index finger. If you prefer another finger, the middle or ring fingers are the next best, but try to avoid fingers with large knuckles (where the base of your finger is narrower than the knuckle).
A:AnswerHi there,
the external surface materials include titanium with physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating in Gold, Silver, Rose Gold, and Brushed Titanium colors. Titanium with Diamond-like Carbon (DLC) coating in Black and Stealth colors. The inner surface materials include a non-allergenic, non-metallic seamless inner molding. This is a medical grade, BPA-free inner surface. The LiPo battery, like many lithium-based batteries, may contain small traces of nickel. However, the battery is sealed within a water resistant mold and will not come into contact with your skin.
A:AnswerOura's operating temperature ranges from 14°F – 129°F / -(10)°C – 54°C. You can safely wear your ring in the shower, hot tubs, saunas, ice baths, and cryotherapy tanks. However, extended exposure to extreme temperatures (below 32°F / 0°C or above 95°F / 35°C) may lead to battery damage.
A:AnswerI wish! I tried using the RAF $40 off but they would not take it. Also claimed they wouldn’t take it because “oura is not a competitor”. Ridiculous.
A:AnswerHi there, your Oura Ring can track several metrics such as your body temperature, blood oxygen saturation levels, and heart rate in order to provide you with valuable insights about your body's sleep and activities.
Oura Ring does not have GPS or other location-tracking capabilities.
A:AnswerI believe so but it is always best to consult with your doctor. Unless you have been told to stay away from Bluetooth devices it should not be a problem
A:AnswerFrom the Oura website, here is the description of their external materials:
"Titanium with physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating in Gold, Silver, and Rose Gold colors. Titanium with Diamond-like Carbon Coating (DLC) in Black and Stealth colors"
It appears they do not use actual gold, but rather gold "color."
A:AnswerI’m work in an office and am constantly moving my hands/arms to type. It does not count my arm movement as steps. It knows I’m sitting and will regularly remind me to stretch my legs.
A:AnswerI've had my ring for a couple months and I've never worried about exposing it to water but I am careful not to expose it to harsh chemicals or even lotion. I would say if you're going to apply hair care products, definitely wash it afterwards! It may just be easier to take it off.
A:AnswerUnfortunately, you'll need to bring two chargers. Each ring size comes with a charger specifically designed for that one size only. My husband and I are in the same boat - each have a ring but two different sizes - so we both have to end up packing our separate chargers.
A:AnswerI don’t know about that particular store but I believe all of the stores have a generic ring sizer that allows you to try all sizes on your finger and you pick what fits best. The rings are sealed in a box and I was not allowed to try it on before I purchased it. The ring size guide was accurate and I am ver happy with my ring.
