It seems like the camera relies on its LTE connection to CallPass’s servers to authenticate your right to wipe the cam and pair your phone, even if it’s the same device you were paired to before losing connectivity. I guess this helps to prevent a thief from resetting the device if it’s stolen. Unfortunately, this means you may not be able to retrieve recorded video unless you both buy the ridiculously expensive LTE service for an entire year (the minimum amount sold) and you live in an area where this is permitted/available (apparently CallPass’s services are not available in all states). My suggestion is to try calling CallPass to see what your options are. They maintain bankers hours though - M-F 8-4, or you can leave them a voicemail to call you back when they’re open.
