“Does the light stay on when the door is opened?”

• Just bought NN-SN661. The light is OFF when the door is open. The light is ON when microwave is cooking. Panasonic says it's an energy saving feature.

• There is no internal light in my microwave, so no light comes on (or stays on) when the door is open.

• Yes, the light stays on until you close the door. The interior light does not function while the unit is running a cooking sequence.
