is this player is made in japan? null

Unfortunately the label on back of the Panasonic DMP-UB900 shows it was made in China. Perhaps Japan did the engineering, specifications and quality control?? I also have a Samsung UBD-KM85C and it is made in Indonesia (not South Korea). The construction is noticeably better in the Panasonic and it has optional RGB hookup. Both were recently purchased and will be keeping the Panasonic. On very limited testing both seemed to produce the same video and sound quality.
