As long as you have the base landline plugged into a phone jack there should be any distance limit as long as both are plugged into a wall outlet. Main thing is the base needs to be on a phone jack.

A:AnswerNo, although it does have speaker phone button; however, others around you can hear the call as well when on speaker phone. I like this phone though; I'm just having it as a 'backup' phone for when my cellphone might not work, as has happened in the past! :)
