“Does phone's answering machine work for incoming cell phone calls connected to the system and record the incoming cell phone message? I think somebody tried to answer this but I couldn't fully understand the response.”

No, the call only rings on the home phone, the message will go to your cell phone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.My cell phone is not connected to the system. For normal phone calls to my home, I set the ring total to 4 rings. The answering system works fine for that. If I turn the answering machine off, after 5 calls my Xfinity phone system will take the message.
