“purchased this phone a week ago every thing seemed ok but the problem is the answering machine does not activate after the 4th ring. I tried to record a personal message it did not activate, I tried the auto answering system nothing. please help.”

More than likely, your voice mail answer is set to low. It should be set ar 7 or 8, so that your machine will pick up at four rings. Call your carrier to help you reset the voicemail.
