Hello, Bob! The handsets that come with the phone are already registered with the system. However, if you want to register new handsets to this phone system, this can be done by pressing MENU on the handset, then press symbol # and enter code 130. On the base unit, press and hold [LOCATOR] for about 5 second and when prompted, you need to press OK on the handset and then wait until a long beep sounds. Also, you can expand your phone system by registering optional handsets (6 max.) to a single base unit. -C
