“I spoke with Allexis at Best Buy and was told this phone system will answer a call and require the caller to push a button to be connected to a "person" allowing bogus calls to be monitored and go unanswered. It does not say this in any of the details.”

That is correct. If the person calling isn't in your address book, then the caller has to press 1 to continue the call. No more robocalls. It doesn't even ring.

With the automated call block feature, the unit screens incoming calls before ringing for allowed calls, or ends the calls without ringing for calls identified as robocalls, telemarketing calls, or other undesirable calls (Caller ID subscribers only). The unit will play the greeting message for the automated call block and prompt the caller to enter an access code in order for the unit to identify whether the call is automated. Once the caller enters the access code, the caller’s phone number is memorized in the allowed number database as an unblocked number. Callers from this database are allowed to connect without the access code from their next call. Hope this helps! -C
