“We are a two person household on two floors. We currently have a base unit and 4 extensions of an older system. I’m replacing it. If this phone links to cell phones, and my wife and I always have our cell phones with us, why do I need extensions?”

Because Link2Cell allows you to answer and make calls on your cell from any handset. However, it does not work to answer the home phone on your cell unless you call forward your home phone calls to your cell. I do this and can get all home phone calls on my cell even when not at home. The call forwarding is done on the Xfinity system as it is my home phone provider.
