No. Weather resistant. They do sell waterproof housings made for this camera anywherenfrom a a custom dslr sealable bag to custom molded plastic. Bags cost around $60 I believe and plastic swallows housings go from $400’s to $1000’s

It is not recommended to take underwater, BUT YES rain, snow splashes, rinsing off is A OK! There are rubber gaskets at every opening and the body is made out of magnesium with a rubber tight fitting formed jacket/cover. Go pick one up and feel the tactile grip. Its awesome.
