The connections should be as follows. One to the ground, any ground will do. One to the battery. And one to something switched. The reason is that once you turn your car off, the switched power cuts out. That is what triggers the parking mode. You can set the voltage cut out by opening the device and changing the jumper. But u must have that battery wire hot at all times. Otherwise it will not work properly.
