  • Questionwill it work with and android S-10

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Yes. It will work with just about any phone that can download the FreeFlight 6 app from the android/iOS store. I use the Samsung S9 Plus and I bought an adapter from Amzn that allows the larger phone to fit better.

  • QuestionDoes this drone have a return to me .. or return to home capability?

    Asked by GWj61.

    • Answer The drone has automatic "return to home" (RTH) which can be manually activated or automatically, in the case of lost signal or low battery situation. You do need to get a good GPS lock before taking off to be sure the RTH location is set. If not, you'll get a warning on screen that no precise RTH has been set. You simply land, get a good satellite signal, then take off again.

  • QuestionAm I missing somthing because in the specs it says wireless range is 13000 ft but how come it starts cutting out around 1000?

    Asked by Connerchappell.

    • Answer Legally, you can only fly 400 feet elevation in the US (even less if you're in controlled airspace.) You can fly with "visual line of sight" laterally. Getting your Part 107 FAA drone license is a great idea to learn about the laws when flying a drone. That being said, wi-fi interference is common with drones in residential/urban/commercial areas. You can try switching to the 5.8 ghz settings in the FreeFlight app which takes away all the 2ghz channel options (which is where most of the wi-fi interference comes from.) The range listed by manufacturers is only valid in areas with zero interference (farm land, etc.) Also important to try different channels if you're operating in the 2ghz range. You can download an app for your phone that will show the best wi-fi channel in a given area. Antenna angle is also important...be sure the "face" of the antenna is pointing at the drone at all times. Lastly, you can purchase an aftermarket range extender from alienware that replaces the antenna in the Skycontroller 3. It may void your warranty, so be very careful if you choose to do that. They offer a simple extender for about 150 dollars, or a powered booster for a bit more.

  • QuestionWho do I contact for technical support for this product?

    Asked by Boris.

    • Answer 1) Parrot is your best bet. 2) If it's more of a non-technical problem, Youtube yields excellent tutorials and tips. 3) If you're a geek and don't care about warranty issues, Parrot also has a "How to fix your Anafi" video in their tutorial section. Fly smart and enjoy!

  • QuestionIs a phone required for this drone? I’m searching for a camera drone that doesn’t require a phone.

    Asked by MommyT88.

    • Answer A phone or tablet is required in order to fly the drone and view the "FreeFlight 6" app that controls the drone. If you use a tablet instead of phone, you can purchase a tablet adapter that slips over the antenna. You can find these on Amzn, like just about everything.

  • QuestionWhat is the range this Drone can reach, meaning distance ?

    Asked by Anonymous.

    • Answer Discussing wifi interference as a general cause of fly aways and loss of transmission/control in another post, that is the fly in the ointment. You have the mfg's specs which seem to be calculated in vacuums then you have reality! Since the law requires "line of sight" restrictions (and they keep piling on other things!), can you see your drone 500 ft away? And can you afford the fine past that if you can't? I try to follow regulations but for those who are adventurous, doing a scenario can take your drone to half the max the battery can do then the Return To Home will kick in automatically. I've seen in videos the Anafi do a couple of miles and almost not making it back. Video transmission suffered after 1500 ft (I believe) but she kept going to the limit before returning home . . . just barely. Better hope your telemetry readings are reliable! DJI's Accu-sync system refines that "wifi" signal to a super wi-fi which can extend those video transmissions considerably at the price of $800+. Maybe the Autel, too. But you pay that price for the privilege. Add the DJI Smart Controller which doubles the price with their proprietary enhancements which probably contributes to the system's efficiency, you can increase the distance . . . again for the price. Two years from now, the efficacy of even the lowest systems WILL improve possibly reaching out more miles BUT where will the Law be? That is the question. We all want to go faster, higher, farther . . . but will we be allowed? I doubt it.

  • QuestionI do not see a battery charger listed in the package. Does it comes with a battery charger? Is a multiple battery charger made for these batteries?

    Asked by DroneGal.

    • Answer The Anafi batteries can be recharged via a USB cable. They provide numerous USB-C cables to charge the 3 batteries that come in the Anafi Extended package. There is an option for an aftermarket "smart charger" that charges all 3 at once. It can be purchased from Amzn for under 50 dollars. I bought one at charges my batteries in under an hour (all three at once) which is about a third of the time it takes to charge them via the USB-C cable. The smart charger also has 2 additional USB out connectors so you can charge the SkyController and your phone at the same time.

  • QuestionWill this drone follow me? What's the flight time?

    Asked by Amos.

    • Answer The is a Follow Me app you can purchase for $0.99. Yes, that's 99 cents which is why I don't understand why Parrot just doesn't include it as part of the Free Flight 6 program. As far as flight time, I haven't flown the Anafi to the point of exhausting the battery but I think the 25 minutes is pretty accurate.
