“Can a renter use this lamp for a summer period with a regular light bulb and electric switch”

• The Phillips hub and hue bulbs work in lamps that are already on. I don't see any reason it would not work for a summer period. Regular light bulbs in a lamp could be used with a WiFi outlet that is controlled by the hub.

• There is no lamp. Don't know where you got that info. It is a bridge and 2 light bulbs. If there is a router and wifi. You can use it. Then take it with you.

• Yes, but they're awfully expensive bulbs for that. I would recommend getting one of the Hue dimmer switches for it instead of just using the wall switch. But it would work as a regular bulb.
