The Bridge does not connect to your network over Wi-Fi unless you have some type of Wi-Fi extender with an Ethernet port on it to extend your Wi-Fi while allowing a wired device to plug into it. You do not plug the bridge into your computer's Ethernet port. It plugs into your Wi-Fi router's available Ethernet port. Once it is set up, then you use the app on your iOS or Android device to control the lights and configure them.
