Your challenge is to figure out why the bulbs don't connect to the bridge. That's essential for all advanced features. And yes, through the bridge you can use both the remote and Alexa, and Google Home, and Nest, and...

You would pair the bulbs to the skill, and optionally create a group for the bulbs. I have the bulb named "desk" and the group named "bedroom" for simplicity due to how alexa responds to the hue skill. It responds to commands like "Dim the desk", and in my set up to both "turn off the desk" and "turn off the bedroom" (I have more bulbs in my bedroom, so this shortcut controls the whole room, but yours would just control one under both names if this is the only kit you have). You need to add the bulb to the hub first, and then connect Alexa skill to your hue hub. You may also need to rediscover devices in the Alexa app to make it pick up the bulb.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am using the dimmer switch for my whole living room which currently has 5 lights (3 color bulbs, Hue GO, and a Hue Strip behind the TV). This also works with my Echo (I can tell it 'Living Room off'). That said the bulb that came with the dimmer I am using in a different room. I once had a problem adding bulb to my Hue Hub (I assume that is the Hub you are talking about), and I found an 3rd party app (I can't remember the name) that pushed it to be added. I can't remember the name of the app, but I found it be using google at the time.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you can get the hub to recognize the bulb then Alexa should find it. Then you can use the switch and Alexa.
