• Yes, you need the philips hue hub as these aren't the Bluetooth version.

• Sounds like you do not have a Philips Hue hub. These bulbs require a hub for the "smart" features.

• Make sure you have established a Hue account. Make sure that, in Alexa, you have linked this account in “skills.” This should help. Ask Alexa to “discover new devices” to be sure. You would also need the Hue bridge as these lights will not work with out that price of equipment.

• Have to download the Hue app and follow the instructions there. Do you have one of these also it is needed

• You need a hue bridge and then you can link that to your Alexa account for voice control
