Unfortunately, Hue does not connect with Alarm.com applications. My house also uses Alarm, but compatible smart home devices must be z-wave capable. Hue does not have that capability. I have the rest of the home on the alarm.com app, and don't find it cumbersome at all to open the Hue app for the lights. This is especially true if you create Hue widgets on you're phone so that you don't need to enter the app to set a scene.

You will need the Phillips Hue Hub to control this bulb.

You can use either a ZigBee light controller or the Hue Hub
