- Answer If you are taking about color those are called Kelvin and these get to about 6000k which is the typical “Daylight” color on a light bulb. If you are talking about brightness those are measure in lumens in which case these bulbs are 800 lumens which is the typical brightness of an incandescent 60w bulb.

- Answer Nope, you screw it in, make sure your light switch stays on so it receives power. Press your button on the bridge when the app tells you to so it can find it in your network and then you're good to go. 5 min setup most!

- Answer Just go to your Hue app and find the room or bulb you are trying to change. Tap the actual name of the room and it will take you to scenes or recipes. Then choose recipes and the setting you want...relax, read, concentrate or energize.

QuestionI purchased the hue light starter kit with 2 white lights. I purchased a 3rd light because i have 3 lamps. The 3rd light was a white ambiance light single bulb. When i downloaded the app on the 2 lights in the kit worked. The 3rd light purchased did not.

- Answer I have the first and 3rd generation bulbs. They work well. Try downloading a newer Hue app.

- Answer Unfortunately, Hue does not connect with Alarm.com applications. My house also uses Alarm, but compatible smart home devices must be z-wave capable. Hue does not have that capability. I have the rest of the home on the alarm.com app, and don't find it cumbersome at all to open the Hue app for the lights. This is especially true if you create Hue widgets on you're phone so that you don't need to enter the app to set a scene.

QuestionHow bright is this bulb? I want to replace a 100 watt bulb and even though it says 800 lumen, I hear real tests are far lower. I ask because I have the gen 3 hue color bulbs and these things are pathetic at putting out light.

- Answer This bulb is comparable to the gen3 hue color when it comes to "white" output. They aren't significantly brighter than a gen3 hue color set to white mode. That being said, I would say the output is somewhere near that of a 60 watt light at least.
