I have the first and 3rd generation bulbs. They work well. Try downloading a newer Hue app.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can add the 3rd light via the serial number found on the base of the bulb. In the app where you added the other bulbs, there is an option to add a bulb via the serial number. If that fails to work, you could possibly have a defective bulbs. Keep in my the bulb needs to be with in range of the hub or it won't work either. I think it is approximately 100ft, but if you have walls or other obstructions, it will alter that distance.

Once the hub and app recognizes the bulb, you will then have to group them for control. This will have to be repeated in the Home App to ensure that Echo or Siri will recognize the set up. The Home App and Alexa may tell you it does not recognize the additional bulb but will still follow your commands.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am not sure why the addition of a color bulb would cause an issue. Did you group them? If the app can't find the bulb you can force discovert by entering the serial number on the bulb. Worst case scenario return the color bulb and purchase a white one, they are cheaper anyway. Good luck.
