I think you're asking the wrong people and it seems like a rhetorical question you don't want an answer for. These may be on the expensive side of other lighting options but it's really not overpriced. If you want cheap and likely to have issues (as many of the reviews state), you can buy something for $20-$40 and end up spending the same amount as one Phillips Hue product.

Agreed! But my advice is to buy the extended warranty and enjoy. In the end they are haste free and highly entertaining.
