Q: QuestionCan I use them indoors? If yes, would there be any cons of that?
Asked by Chib.
- A:Answer Absolutely! I have two 6.5 foot outdoor light strips inside my apartment and I did this intentionally because the outdoor ones produce a very bright but diffuse light. The regular indoor strips have to be behind something facing a wall because they are far too direct and unshielded to look at. So for a softer accent light that can be out where people directly look at it, but can still provide enough light to light up practically the entire room by itself, these are perfect. Two downsides… They require Clips to be held in place, it comes with screws to attach these clips. That is not very practical unless you want to ruin furniture or your walls so I use heavy duty indoor double-sided tape and it seems to work fine provided the light strip is on a surface, not hanging freely somewhere (although I will bet if you used stronger double-sided tape, the outdoor kind, you could hang these things wherever you want. I just don’t want to pull paint off the wall). Also, the power cords are made for outdoors so they are a little uslightly so maybe plan to hide those as best you can. Aside from that, I have been extremely happy with the outdoor strips indoors. And to me they seem brighter than the indoor ones anyway but that might just be in my head. Also, if you use the Hue HDMI box to sync up lighting with TV, gaming or music, the outdoor strips are much more responsive than the indoor strips. The indoor ones sort of brighten up in phases where as the outdoor ones can simply switch brightness or color instantly.

Q: Question(QUESTION) I was interested in purchasing a few Philips Hue white & color ambiance "OUTDOOR" (2 METER) light strips. Can someone please tell me if the LED lights go all the way to the end or is there a gap of no light on one end or both ends?
Asked by ADRENALINEJUNKY.
- A:Answer After purchasing a 5 meter and 2 meter strip i realized the light goes to the end if you keep them straight. But if you try to bend them for the contours of the space your using it for; the strip retracts in itself causing there to be a end with no light. So this causes an issue when trying to bunt 2 strips back to back......
