I've been using on all my recessed lighting. Seems to work fine. I don't see why can't it be used in recessed lighting.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The package insert specifies that it is not to be used in a closed recessed fixture meaning the ones that have a glass cover over the bulb. The open fixtures in most ceilings are fine. Also this bulb is for indoor use only, they make a separate outdoor bulb for outdoor recessed fixtures.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’ve had them in recessed downlights and not a single issue. Open downlights get enough cool air indoors to keep them from getting too hot and shortening their life.
