Did you try putting it in at an angle and make sure it it lined up too it doesnt go in far.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The cord with mine plugged into the back of the dock just fine? It does plug in at an upward angle on the back of the dock, that may be your issue if you're trying to plug it in straight (parallel with the ground).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the EXACT same problem. I was sure that the prongs were bigger on the SmartClean unit than on the razor. It's not obvious, looking at the unit straight on, that you aren't look at the prongs straight on, and the razor does plug in straight on. I had to come find this page to figure out what was happening. Amazon's site says that the SmartClean replacement unit doesn't come with a cord. I started to wonder if mine that came with the 7500 razor hadn't come with one either and was looking up power cords for Norelco devices.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is a little difficult to plug into the back. I tilted the female end upwards and it worked.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It took me a little while to figure this one out, and there is absolutely nothing in the instructions that tells you...plug the cord into the base at an upward angle...and not straight ahead......as it looks like it should be.

Now insert the cable in the given space. Also make sure you are using the original charging cable provided with your Philips SmartClean System.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The power cord plugs into the back of the SmartClean Cleaning System at an angle, not straight in.
