Does this play DVDs as well as blue ray? null

yes it does. I believe I just got the Dolby Vision update a couple weeks ago too. The Philips website is poor and doesn't explain what the last update actually did, but according to a post I saw, it was the Dolby Vision update.

Yep, plays DVDs, Blu-ray, 4k ultra HD Blu-ray and even CDs. I've personally played all with this player and they all look and sound great.

Yes. But doesn’t do Dolby vision yet. Put all movies in vivid on the blueray player. Looks good. The actual setting on the player.

Sure, it plays DVDs, Blu-rays and 4k Blu-rays. It also plays music CDs. While I am at it, since Philips updated the firmware, it also plays Dolby Vision 4k Blu-ray movies.
