“Will this receiver power front, surround, surround back and use the height as dolby atmos by itself? Or do you need a separate amp to do all of these things? Does it have HDR? Thanks for any help”

This receiver only will support a 5.1.2 Atmos setup by itself. Dolby Heights, fronts, surround backs, etc. The receiver does support full HDR with 4.4.4 and 60p color.

Please try again later.looking at the back panel picture i see speaker posts that show out to front, surround, surround back and height so I doubt a second amp is necessary according to the company website the receiver does support 4K, HDR and 2.2 HDCP http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Home/AV-Receivers/Elite+Receivers/VSX-LX301
