Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.depends if its an Si or not. or a 4 door or a coupe. in my Si coupe (2013) i screwed down a pioneer class D amp to the spare tirecover board closest to the back of the back seats, that way i could run my wires up to the back panel where the two mids and factory woofer are and to the front of the car as well. i wanted to replace the factory woofer with an upgraded aftermarket but learned the hard way that you must find a speaker almost the exact same dimensions as the factory one otherwise you will have a heck of a time getting it in there. so i built my own box with a single 10" infinity kappa sub and that was fine for good listening. if your trying to get attention or compete then go big with double 12"s or 15"s. but if you just want to enjoy your tunes , there's really no need to get excessive. a couple of high end tweeters is good to replace on the driver/passenger side windows too.

I can't compare a 96' with a '16 because I've never been in one, but I fit two 12's and an amp in my trunk with some room to spare. In my 96' civic I mean. It was tight but they fit.
