“My direct tv box is hooked to hdmi 1 input every time I turn tv off and back on it doesn't go right to viewing direct tv it makes me select hdmi 1 input ever time any ideas how to make it go straight to viewing”

In the settings go to TV and than antenna and input setting scroll down to default input and set the input you want it to turn to when the tv is powered on.
