“I want to use my computer for the input on this unit coming out of my up to 7.1 sound board from my computer will this be able to bring me back to life? does it have 3.5 input ports or would i use the usb port, I am not up to date on new stuff yet”

It does have a 3.5mm input jack which doubles as a mic input for the auto calibration system. If you're wanting to use a 7.1 surround sound board the VSX-732 might be more appropriate as it is designed for 7.1 surround sound systems. With a computer, you would probably want to use a HDMI cable for video and audio input, then connect the speaker connections to the soundboard.
