• The Pioneer AVH-521EX is designed to work with the Pioneer ND-BC8 Backup Camera. The in-dash receiver screen will automatically switch to the back up camera window, when the vehicle is in reverse gear. And it will automatically switch back to the audio playback screen when the vehicle is taken out of reverse gear. The backup camera does not record. As of 2023 January, Pioneer in-dash receivers do not directly integrate with Pioneer dash cameras. Pioneer dash cameras for front and rear application, are stand alone products and function fully without the use of a Pioneer in-dash receiver. Since the dash camera and in-dash receiver are not integrated, putting the vehicle in reverse will not interrupt the dash cam recording process.
