QuestionDo I have to connect the Reverse Shift Indicator? What does it do? Will the Backup Camera stay on / come on intermittently? Can I connect the Parking Brake wire to ground or do "I need a Bypass Module?

- Answer If you’re trying to have dvd playing, you’ll need a bypass module unless you hook it to the parking brake. I grounded it on mine and it worked until I shut the car off. I then removed the stereo again thinking maybe it came loose. It did not so I researched the radio to see that it needs the bypass. My kenwood did not need it and just needed grounded but the newer ones need it. I got mine from amazon for like $12.

- Answer The USB port is on the back of the unit. In my installation a wired extension was installed in the console.

QuestionThis says it has a DVD player. Will it play CDs as well? Specs say it doesn't have CD player so I'm confused. I have a lot of CDs that I still tend to use.

- Answer At the top of the page for the stereo on the website, right above the header/title for the product, there’s a “check vehicle fit” that you can click on and enter all your vehicle info and it will tell you if it will fit or not. As for install, if it fits they install it. Be it a Ford Focus or a Lamborghini... if you trust a Best Buy installer to touch your Lamborghini that is. I used to go to a car audio/video dedicated shop in my area before they closed down because of COVID, and I’d go there in a heartbeat if they were still open, but I’ve had stereos installed by Best Buy a few times and I’ve always been happy with the finished product.

- Answer You can hook up the stock camera to this receiver by using the correct aftermarket wiring harness that plugs into your factory wiring harness.

- Answer The AVH-521EX does have a rear monitor video output. Most vehicles will require a dash adapter and/or a wiring harness adapter kit. Please work with Best Buy’s Geek Squad. They will verify the fit and assist you with any additional accessories you may need.

- Answer You can use the pioneer app for this radio on your phone to use your phone navigation through the radio. But it stutters and apps lag on this radio.
