Q: QuestionI have a 2016 challenger sxt. Everything that I have found on the internet says, I can only use factory stereos in my car. Is this true, or can I purchase this pioneer deck and have it installed at Best Buy?

• A:Answer Both are mostly true. Your factory radio has many car functions and controls on the display, in addition to the stereo functions (climate control, for example). To install and use an aftermarket unit, you need to buy a new Chrysler wiring harness to connect these other functions. Best Buy can do it. The new harness is about $100.00. You will need a new mounting bracket as well. Stop in and talk with the Best Buy installers. They will tell you can and can’t be done, and how much it will cost. There are some cars where aftermarket units can’t be used at all.

• A:Answer You will need to buy an adapter for the Sirius/XM radio. It is built into the radio but an adapter in needed to hook it up that doesn't come in the box.

• A:Answer Yes. I had to purchase a PAC wiring kit to use my steering wheel controls. I will say although they work, the function is slightly different. On my factory stereo, I had volume up/down, tune up/down and 1-6 to step through the presets. On the Pioneer with the PAC kit the up/down arrows step through the presets and the 1-6 button advances the tuner in both AM/FM and Sirius/XM modes. Not a big deal just different.

• A:Answer There is an additional module you must purchase to keep the steering wheel controls. The receiver has a RCA type (composite) video input jack for a rear camera. The wiring harness includes a lead that you would connect to the gear shift/transmission to determine when the vehicle is in reverse.

• A:Answer I don't have this device, however I read on Apple's website that their next IOS update will allow Waze to be used with CarPlay. Next IOS will probably come out this fall.
