I have personally heard and tried the VSX-1130 versus VSX-45. I can honestly say that the sound VSX-45 is so much better than VSX-1130. The difference is night and day. Do not be deceived by the 80W rms of VSX-45. VSX-1130 sounded harsh and thin. Also using the auto calibration feature, VSX-1130 required my speakers to be at -2.5dB per channel or speakers. VSX-45 requires my speaker to be at -6-5.5dB per channel, meaning the VSX-45 actually has deliver more power than VSX-1130.

I am using it upstairs with smaller 5.2 surround speakers and the Dolby Surround was fine. Also, since it is Elite has 2 year warranty and costs less than VSX-1130, it is on sale at Best Buy now for $299.98.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.To be honest with you the only reason why it's in the Elite line is there's a blue ray DVD player and a couple of other items and you have to use a smartphone or a computer to set it up. That's all I have noticed.
