I had a great tech install mine. I know that with my vehicle he had to undo some issues with the wiring that someone else caused. It sounds like a wiring issue. I would have a different tech look at the stereo. This will hopefully get the problem solved. Another set of eyes is always a good idea. Maybe even go to a different BestBuy to avoid bias.
