The 2005 Kia Sportage dash does support installation of double-din head units such as this one. You will need a dash kit to pair with this though, otherwise there will be very noticeable and unattractive gaps around the CD player once it is installed. Just for further reference, the attached image shows a double-din navigation unit installed in the dash of an 06 model (same dash). This particular vehicle has a custom surround installed to fill the gaps mentioned above. A Metra double-din install kit is a much easier and economical option for the average person.
