• The amplifier has provisions for several inputs. One of them is PHONO. That input should do it for you, and no preamp is required. Pay attention to the grounding instructions that come with the amp.

• No. I used this amp for a Pioneer turntable from the 70's and a Pioneer tuner of the same vintage. Added a CD player from Best Buy and new speakers. This amp will blow the windows out - works great.
