  • Key Specs
    • Continuous Watts x Channel @ Ohms: 50 Watt x 2 @ 4 Ohm
    • Number of Channels: 2 (The number of discrete channels of sound output. This can be a single number or multiple numbers separated by decimal(s). The first number is the primary, horizontally directed audio channels. The number after the first decimal, if applicable, is the number of subwoofer outputs or channels. The number after the second decimal, if applicable, is the number of height or atmospheric channels designed to immerse the listener by producing overhead sound effects.)

    • Product Name: Elite 100W 2.0-Ch. Amplifier
    • Brand: Pioneer
    • Model Number: A20
  • Audio
    • Continuous Watts x Channel @ Ohms: 50 Watt x 2 @ 4 Ohm
    • Maximum Watts x Channel @ Ohms: 30 Watt x 2 @ 8 Ohm (This is the maximum load the speaker, subwoofer or amp can drive.)
    • Total Power Handling: 100 watts (How much amplifier (amplified) power (wattage) that can be handled before damaging the product.)
    • Minimum Frequency Response: 5 hertz (Describes the maximum range of frequencies or musical tones a product can reproduce, from very low tones to very high treble tones. The minimum frequency or musical tone the speaker can reproduce. High treble tones have higher frequencies while low tones and deep bass have lower frequencies.)
    • Total Harmonic Distortion: 0.01 percent (Measurement of the harmonic sound distortion. The lower the percentage, the cleaner the sound.)
    • Maximum Frequency Response: 100 kilohertz (Describes the maximum range of frequencies or musical tones a product can reproduce, from very low tones to very high treble tones. The maximum frequency or musical tone the speaker can reproduce. High treble tones have higher frequencies while low tones and deep bass have lower frequencies.)
    • Amplifier Class: AB (An amplifier's mode of operation, specifically the conditions in which its electrical current flows for the duration of an audio signal, determines its class. Each class has its strengths and weaknesses when it comes to power efficiency, levels of crossover distortion, and overall sound quality.)
    • Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR): 105 decibels (The ratio of the desired signal's strength to the level of background noise. A ratio higher than 1:1, which equates to greater than 0 decibels, indicates more signal than noise.)
    • Bass Boost: Selectable (Circuitry that boosts the bass response of the amplifier, improving audio reproduction enhancing the sound of low frequencies. Fixed boost means the level of bass response is preset, whereas variable boost allows the user to make adjustments.)
  • Inputs
    • Speaker-Level Inputs: true (Also referred to as high-level inputs. Enables the amplifier to receive a sound signal from another device that does not have RCA, or low-level, inputs.)
    • Line-Level Inputs: true (Also referred to as low-level inputs. Enables the amplifier to receive a sound signal from another device via RCA cables.)
  • Outputs
    • Preamp Outputs: true
  • Features
    • Fan Cooled: false
    • Bridgeable: true (Bridging an amplifier increases the power it supplies to the speaker(s).)

Q: I already have a pioneer receiver which i have my dvd, cd,cable connected too, how much of a difference will this make adding it to my system ?

A: It depends on your setup and configuration. If your current receiver doesn’t have enough power for your speakers, or in theater setup no power at all for of the channels (eg., using pre out for surround back), then adding this unit could make a big difference. Alternatively, this unit could be added to power a second pair of speakers in addition to your main speakers connected to your receiver. No matter what configuration you use, this unit has solid and clean sound, but it doesn’t add power to your receiver, it replaces it for one set of speakers.

Q: can i use a subwoofer with this amp and how can I hook it up?

A: There are no sub outputs on this amplifier. Thus, there is no easy way to connect a powered sub. You could try the Record outputs, but these outputs are pre volume control, so there would be no volume control of the sound/output to the sub. If you sub had its own volume control, you could manually adjust, but it would not be connected to the volume of the amp. This would be a possible workaround to not having a sub output.

Q: Can you use this with the pioneer sc-95 9.2 system to make it 11.2? I know the sc-95 is capable of 11.2 with an amp. This would give 100 watts to my front left and 100 watts to my front right channels?

A: You could absolutely use this to drive one of the sets of speakers on the SC-95. There are numerous sets of inputs. While the power rating on this unit is lower than that of the 95, it would still produce great power for any of the speaker pairs available with a pre-amp output.

Q: Overview says it has pre-amp outputs, but that seems to be incorrect - what's the story?

A: it has Aux left and right, and Control in and out along with the usual left and right inputs. Nothing labeled Pre-amp.

Q: I have a pioneer elite vsx70 with b&w cm10 s2, that I recently acquired Yes I know, but for the time being, will this provide more power until I replace the receiver with what I want

A: It absolutely will give you more juice...i use it primarily to power my sub woofer and it does the job perfectly. Im in the same situation as you with my receiver which is also a lower end pioneer elite

Q: Do I need a seperate pre amp for a turntable to conmnect to this amplifier? The turntable is a Technics 1200=MK2

A: The amplifier has provisions for several inputs. One of them is PHONO. That input should do it for you, and no preamp is required. Pay attention to the grounding instructions that come with the amp.
