In my honest opinion, I looked online at forums and help desks and it seems that for some reason, the ARC function does not seem to sync well with the Samsung Smart TV's. I have ran into this issue also, and may be a programming issue on Pioneer end, or Samsung end. They do not speak to each other. You probably run into that echo between TV and Receiver. I just put volume to 0 on TV and use Receiver inputs for my majority viewing. Kind of defeats the purpose of the Smart TV if you ask me!
