• Yes, this is the entire purpose of having a receiver, to intercept the audio in a source and play it via the surround sound speakers connected to it. And yes, you can turn off ARC, either in the TV, or the receiver.

• Yes go into settings and under HDMI you can choose which HDMI input sends and receives audio
