Yes! Just select another input such as tuner or CD, and the receiver will play that input. But, you can't listen to the tv by turning up the tv remote, if it's hooked up through the ARC HDMI. Or at least, that's what I've come to. The ARC allows you to use the tv remote to control the Pioneer volume (very cool!), but if the receiver is turned on, you'll only be able to hear the tv when the receiver is selected to TV.
