• I am not 100% sure but is a 4k upconvert system so something running 4k already to the receiver to a 4k TV should produce your hd 4k clarity. Just running a plain old DVD seems to upconvert to almost Blu-ray quality. Could be just ne that thinks that but the clarity on the movie was definitely clearer in my opinion. Hope this helps.

• It just passes the video portion of the signal through while keeping HDCP 2.2 intact, so any current device should pass through unhindered. I don't use Apple stuff but my Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, and nVidia Shield all work flawlessly with 4k HDR content.
