“With this 9.2 will it allow all 9 speakers to work at one time? For example 2 front, 1 center, 2 surround, 2 back, and 2 dolby atoms? I currently have a Pioneer 7.2 that has 9 speaker jacks but will only allow a 7.2 at a time.”

Yes it will. I’m currently running a 5.3.4 system.(2 fronts,1 center, 2 surrounds,4 high Atmos ,and 3 subs)On screen menu made setup easy and accurate.

no . it has zone options to if we want to use work all time need to enable all zones. when not required need switch of the zone.

Yes the Pioneer Elite LX 504 will power 9 speakers, I have 2 Front, 1 center, 4 Ceiling, 2 rear and 2 subs.

Consult the manual many wiring diagrams there. I will do a 7.1.2 which is what you are planning. It will also run a second zone at the same time. See pic from manual.
