Q: QuestionI have an older pair of TYR speakers. Great speakers but power hungry. I only want this for 2 channel audio - how much power per the 2 channels can I expect to get from this receiver?
Asked by Barb.
- A:Answer Hi Barb, this receiver should only give you around 80W per channel with 2 channels driven at 8 ohms (give or take a little bit due to room environments etc). If you are looking for a receiver that will give you a bit more power you will most likely have to move into a higher stereo receiver or a separate amplifier. You may want to look into a company like Rotel for pure power to a speaker at a decent price.

Q: QuestionMy front speakers can be bi-wired. Can I eire this reciever up this way if I only use it in 5.1 mode?
Asked by Jpparts.
- A:Answer Yes just make sure you have the receiver turned off when you do this. It has an automatic shut off when the wires touch, or you are trying to bi-wire it and you have too much wire still exposed. Just a safety mechanism response feature built in to it which is a good thing. Hook up all the wires they way you want to, make sure the wires do not stick out (cut the wires down if need to as the whole for insertion are not that wide) and then turn on the receiver and you should be good to go.
