Yes, it will most definitely work in your Terrain. It is "4 channel" so it can be used with 4 speakers (or 2). I would encourage you to listen to the receiver without an external amplifier and then with an external power amplifier. The sound is MUCH better with the external amplifier. This not because there is an issue with the quality of the receiver, but rather because most car receivers have only modest built in amplifiers. I am very happy with my purchase (which included not only the external power amplifier but also 4 new speakers, which you will not need (I put the stereo in a 30 year old truck and the stock speakers were of poor quality.
