There is no on/off switch so that it can only be used solely as a case. I suppose, you can drain the battery and use it as a case-only. Not sure why you would do that. There is a button you can press to determine the amount of charge left in the case battery.

I don't know why you would want to give up a fully-charged headset at the ready whenever you need it, though. It's pretty expensive as "just a case," but it does fit perfectly and will likely protect your investment better than anything else.

Usually the charging case will continue charging the headset buy very slowly. The charging case does not include a power switch so it will always charge the headset while its stored in it.

Basically you either put it on the docking station or inside the case and you will see the lights turn on as to what the charge rate is for both the charging case and the headset. No buttons or settings or on/off buttons just put it in the charger or case and it starts charging.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is both a case and charger, like the booster chargers for cell phones. Everytime you put your earpiece in it, it tops it off until it is depleted. You can charge the headset from within while charging the case or separate.
